Beyond thematic and emotional content or impact, my favorite part of this read was its form: the story has a quick, episodic layout that makes reading it -- already a quick enterprise -- a very easy, effective and enjoyable one. It also allows for a good deal more in terms of exposition and character exploration by taking what could have been a single scene with lots of dialogue and "telling", and turning it into a lot of pleasantly concise "showing". Clever design, to be sure!As for the rest: of course, it's precisely what one would expect from Mr. Cordair: over-the-top, joyful characters with great gusto enjoying the life he breathes into them!
Also, it would surely be a pleasure to see this screenplay produced.

At Home with Heather James edition by Quent Cordair Romance eBooks Reviews
Bravo! What a well written book! It took me a bit to get into the story, as I'm not used to reading books in this format, but I absolutely LOVED how Quent developed the characters, and kept me guessing! I will definitely read this again.
I just finished reading this on my iPhone and was thoroughly delighted. Mr. Cordair paints vivid pictures in this screen play that feels so real and engaging. The life lessons are clear while not being at all preachy and the poignancy of the finale is thoroughly satisfying in a perfect it-all-makes-sense-and-is-so-right manner! Definitely worth the read!
This is an outstanding example of romanticism. My only complaint is that it was so good, I wanted more.
Mr. Cordair has done it again, this time in the form of a short screenplay. It took what felt like only moments to read the entire work, but unlike many short pieces, it didn't leave me feeling as though I wanted to keep reading. This is a point in the author's favor -- the ability to develop characters, convey beautiful meaning, and leave the reader utterly satisfied in a scant 40 pages is a true skill. I would love to see this onscreen.
If this screenplay, "At Home with Heather James," had been penned when Ayn Rand was writing "The Romantic Manifesto," she most certainly would have used it as an example.
I suspect that "At Home with Heather James" was made possible by "The Romantic Manifesto."
You, too, will want to send a gift copy to your "favorite flower."
When I first read the short synopsis, I was skeptical about whether I'd like it. I don't really watch talk shows anymore, and I didn't think I'd be able to relate to the "Heather James" character. But it was this line in the short description that grabbed my attention, "by the end of the show, Heather is made an offer she can’t refuse. Or can she . . . ?" I lit up! "Ahh! An O'Henry style twist!" Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed. Heather James isn't Rachel Ray or any typical "talk show host." Heather is definitely more passionate and connected, not only to her guests, but to art and it's emotional and cognitive appeal and significance. She hopes that her favorite actor, Rex Keller, will share the same sense of life. She learns to look behind the curtain...
Fast moving with a surprise at every step.
This screenplay integrates romantic art and romantic love as I've never seen done before. (The story feels sooo real too; it's amazing.) If you've forgotten either or both, get reacquainted here.
The stirring narrative does its job, but needs to be brought to full life with flesh and blood (very good) actors. It needs to be in visual form. IMO, love is always difficult to put on the screen. (I don't think Hollywood does very well even at putting sex on the screen, despite all the practice they've had.) Should the missing sex scene be included in the movie? Don't know for sure, but it's worth considering just as in real life, passion needs completion--it's integral and essential. (Ok, ok, I'd be disappointed without the scene being included.)
